What Exactly Does Pack Walks Include and Entail?

At Hounds Abound we know how lucky we are to be situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, with an abundance of beautiful unspoilt countryside, enchanting woodlands, refreshing river stops and lochs on our doorstep. All of our group walks involve taking a short trip out of town to rural areas where the group will have ample space to engage in instinctive behaviours like running with the pack, play, socialisation and of course plenty snuffling and sniffing around the exciting surroundings.
Your pooch will be picked up from home and transported in our purposely kitted out van, with the comfort and safety of each one being our number one priority. On reaching destination we begin our hour long walk. After returning to the van a drink of water is offered.
As a lot of doggies will delight in splashing through muddy puddles, ponds (and even the occasional mud bog!) we will clean him or her and towel dry before returning home. There is a portable shower facility on board for all of those extra mucky adventures so regardless of how filthy they end up on finishing the walk they will never be running round your clean carpets at home taking the mess along with them!
Depending on your instruction we can leave out food, top up water bowls and generally make sure your pooch is settled at home.
As dogs are natural pack animals like ourselves they benefit from the social dynamics of interacting with each other, helping to stimulate both body and mind.
Pack walks can benefit your dog in multiple ways, providing increased exercise for all those high energy breeds and often improving confidence levels through the canine interaction. As they are watching and learning from each other regular pack walking can help instill good behaviour and focus, which may make outside distractions in modern life such as traffic noise or unnatural sounds easier to deal with too.
A fun packed hour of group walking is sure to result in happy, well exercised and content doggies!
