Solo Dog Walking

Only the best for our best friends

What Exactly Does Dog Walking Include and Entail?

Daily exercise plays such an important part in a dog’s life and ideally should be an enjoyable and enriching experience. Sometimes, due to your dogs specific personal needs a solo walk will be what is required. Maybe your four legged companion is older and prefers a leisurely stroll at their on pace? If so they can still benefit from all of the sensory fulfillment of woodland walks, along with lots of extra attention and cuddles. A stroll around your home area or a local park may be more suitable if you feel that travel would be stressful in any way.  Getting out and about regularly will also help keep weight in check for optimum health in their twilight years. Have you recently welcomed a new addition to the family with a puppy who is eager to start discovering the world around them?

Following the completion of vaccinations your young pup can start getting all the benefits of early socialisation, exercise and new experiences with short walks in suitable surroundings. Individual walks can be catered to your puppy’s needs depending on their age.

Has your poorly pooch recently suffered an injury or undergone an operation? If this is the case a restricted exercise plan will be necessary to aid recovery. Solo on lead walks at a gentler pace can allow for outdoor time and toilet breaks until they are back to full health, following the advice of your vet on duration and specific requirements.

Is your dog less sociable with other hounds, perhaps being prone to anxiety or nervousness when around others?

Solo walks will provide 1:1 undivided attention away from the potential stress of being around many other curious canines approaching them or looking to interact. Having a physical outlet for their natural energy can assist in eliminating destructive behaviour and boredom at home. The mental stimulation from well disciplined 1:1 walks can help instill confidence in your canine companion over time resulting in a more relaxed and happy hound.
